Children are Unbeatable's UK-wide campaign aims to help move society away from violence to a society that recognises that children have the same human rights as adults, including the right in law not to be hit.

The purpose of changing UK law to give children EQUAL PROTECTION is NOT to prosecute parents but to send out a clear message that in the 21st century it is no more acceptable to hit a child than it is to hit anybody else.

The United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child, which the UK Government signed up to in 1991, upholds children’s rights to human dignity and respect and to protection from all forms of physical or mental violence. The Welsh Assembly Government is strongly committed to upholding the UN Convention and supports the aims of ‘Sdim Curo Plant! Children are Unbeatable!

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child has heavily criticised the UK Government for not taking action to give children legal protection in the home and not using public education to promote positive parenting. 16 countries including Germany and Sweden have taken this action.
