Quality Assurance Scheme

Children in Wales has been working with a team of consultants to produce a unified Quality Assurance (QA) scheme for children aged 0-5 in childcare or those aged 3-5 in the Foundation Phase in funded non-maintained settings. The work is being carried out in parallel to the development of a QA scheme for out of school childcare clubs and open access play is being developed by Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs.

The whole scheme has been developed in consultation with key stakeholders, and was piloted in a variety of settings across ten Flying Start catchment areas during February 2009. The pilot phase is now over. Please check back soon for further updates.
