Anita Myfanwy our North Wales, Development Officer co-ordinates the meetings of the North Wales Children’s Rights Practice Exchange Group. The group provides members with an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss recent developments affecting children. Meetings are held quarterly usually in the Children’s Commissioner’s Office in Colwyn Bay. Dates of the forthcoming meetings are available in the events section.

Issues discussed at the last meeting

The last meeting of the North Wales Children's Rights Practice Exchange Group took place on 22 May 2009.  Speakers included Laurence Smith, Assistant Director:  Corporate Planning & Assurance, of CAFCASS Cymru, who gave a presentation on the role of CAFCASS Cymru and the 2006 Adoption Act.  Julie Edwards of the Children's Commissioner's Office gave a presentation on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Hawis Jones, Wales Strategic Partnership, WLGA, spoke about the UK Border Agency Code of Practice for Keeping Children Safe From Harm.
