• To allow workers in this field to network and share good practice
• To contribute to the development of policy in this area
• To share practice dilemmas and to support each other in problem-solving
• To update their knowledge especially as it relates to the ever changing legal framework.

The network is made up of a range of professionals who work with and for this group of children. Membership currently stands at 65 members which includes policy makers from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The network holds quarterly meetings and also provides regular E-Briefings.

Recent meetings have looked at a range of issues including:

• Trafficking
• Transition at 18
• Appropriate service provision
• Media representation of asylum seekers
• The Section 17/Section 20 debate
• Mental health issues
• The Transition between Asylum and Refugee Status
• Improving services, particularly in Education and Health
