Children in Detention
Briefing on Children in Detention, March 2009 - The Welsh Refugee Council and Children in Wales, have issued a briefing on children in detention. Every year around 2,000 children in the UK are detained for purposes of immigration control. Since 2001 children subject to immigration control can be detained on the same basis as adults.They are the only children in this country that can be locked up indefinitely without judicial oversight.
