Children & Young People's Advocacy Practice Exchange Group

Children in Wales facilitate this Group which is made up of representatives from advocacy-providing organisations who provide advocacy services across all local authority regions. The membership of the group at present include Tros Gynnal, NSPCC and NYAS.

Purpose of the group

To provide a forum for advocacy practitioners to share practice, experience and knowledge around advocacy and related areas. The term ‘practitioners’ is taken to include managers who have advocacy within their job descriptions.

Objectives

  • To share practice, information, ideas and network
  • To support one another
  • To explore similarities and differences in advocacy service provision.
  • To provide a link with appropriate networks e.g. CIW Advocacy Providers Group, Children’s Rights Practice Exchange Groups etc.
  • To provide a collective voice for practitioners
  • To promote children’s rights within the field of advocacy
