A Conference Focusing on Transition to Adulthood for Disabled Young People

The Conference, arranged by the Transitions in Action Group, of which Children in Wales was a founding member, will take place on Thursday November 29th 2007, in The ESIS Centre near Cardiff. The aim of the Conference will be to improve future planning and provision of transition services.

The morning will be led by disabled young people who will highlight what the current situation is and suggest how this can be improved. The afternoon will include workshops showcasing examples of good practice in Transitions. The target audience for the Conference will be practitioners, managers and commissioners who work with disabled young people from a range of statutory services, such as health, education, social services, careers service, housing, employment, voluntary sector services, and those from adult services who provide services for young disabled adults.
