Working with Fathers
Working with Fathers

Location: Castle Hotel, Brecon
Date: 26 Mar 2010
Organiser: Powys Children and Young People's Partnership

Two Day Training Event

FREE event (normal fee is £200 per person)

There is currently a lack of fathers' involvement in pre and ante-natal care, absentee fathers, low esteem and low academic achievement levels amongst boys, the anti social and damaging behaviour of teenagers and the lack of good male role models. These are complex and difficult issues. Each family is different and each case needs care and attention.  However, these issues need to be addressed as a matter of urgency and solutions and ways of working with fathers need to be found.

This two day course is offered as a start in the process.  It encourages debate and will focus attention on ways of engaging fathers that will be of direct benefit to their children, their partners and to society as a whole.

This course is aimed at all professionals looking to engage meaningfully with fathers.  Limited spaces available.
