Reducing home accidents - effective interventions
Location:Carmarthen
Date:9 Feb 2010
Organiser:Children in Wales

Every year in Wales, around 15,000 children under the age of 5 attend Emergency Departments as the result of an accident at home. These accidents often result in serious and disabling injuries and importantly, the majority of them are preventable.

This one-day course draws on research and evidence based interventions to help practitioners understand and address this issue.

At the end of the course, practitioners will have the skills and knowledge to identify who is most at risk and which interventions are effective in reducing home accident for the under 5s.
