Date:4 Dec 2008

Cross cutting agendas: putting policy into practice in Wales

Effectively translating policy objectives into practice represents a major challenge. This conference will look at the children’s policy framework on the one-hand and the challenge of implementation on the other.

Keynote speakers will highlight current policy frameworks and delivering better outcomes for children and young people in Wales focusing on broad areas including Well-being (including Welsh Assembly Government 2008 Children and Young People’s Well-Being Monitor); Effective Partnership working; Early Intervention; Combating Child Poverty and Social Exclusion; and the wider role of Education.

Workshops will pull out important aspects from each of these areas providing delegates with the opportunity to explore some of the factors that help or hinder implementation and to share some good practice examples from across Wales.
